Community Projects

Our members care about our community.  It is important to be able to give back when we have so much to give.
  • The members of WOC and the IBEW work on projects at Habitat, bringing exceptional skill to the job even when they do not get paid.

  • We provide the work for the Annual Christmas lighting at Courthouse Square, Korean Memorial and United Way.

  • WOC NECA is a proud sponsor of the Dayton Dragons Baseball Team.

Local electrical workers help decorate downtown Dayton.  Special holiday cheer provided by Wagner Smith (right) and Chapel Electric (left).

Each year dozens of volunteers work to make downtown come alive at night. Members of the Local 82 IBEW and NECA donate their skilled services to string thousands of lights throughout downtown. This holiday service began seven years ago, and the number of lights has steadily increased each year.

Many thanks to the Wagner Smith Company, Chapel Electric and Prism Electric for donating their time and equipment to create a magical, holiday festival of lights!
